I recently purchased a new Boomer (29hp) With it, I bought a bucket that fits on the rear via the 3-point hitch. My hope is to be able to move snow this winter.Has anyone had any experience with these type buckets? I know you can't lift them very high, but I'm hoping that I can get it high enough to dump. Any experiences would be appreciated.

Larry, while I have not had any expierence with the rear bucket you are talking about, I have moved some snow, trust me get a rear blade, much easier and you won't need the chiropractor. ....

I have built a few buckets for the back of tractors and have only once used it to move snow. Worked ok, but the front blade that I have for my tractor works much better, same goes for using a rear blade. If you want to see my version of the rear bucket check out my website at http://my.voyager.net/pooh/Padghome.htm If you don't mine me asking, where did you get your rear bucket, and what did they charge you?Hope this helps,Randy ....

I bought the dump thru our local New Holland dealer. It's a WESTENDORF AUTO-DUMP out of Onawa, Iowa 51040 712 423 2762. They make several items for smaller tractors. It's a six foot bucket and it cost $800 with the hardware to attach. It has an automatic dumping feature. When you raise it as high as it will go, it dumps. So, if you don't want to dump, don't raise it clear up.I haven't received it or the tractor yet so don't know how it'll work. They're supposed to come in in Mid Sept. Thanks for your response. Perhaps I'll get a blade too. ....
